Matt Tyler 2006 News! posted 24/12/06 Matt Tyler Christmas Message! Hi everyone!
New Pictures "Live At The Cavern"!!! Just posted some of the action from "The Cavern" last week in the gallery Section. Click here to have a look! Enjoy! Matt Tyler posted 14/11/06 New Track "Smile" Recorded Exclusively for Charity CD " Kidzlikedanny" DBM004! Its been a while since my last post as I have been busy working away on those many loose ends that seem to appear this time of year. I have spent most of the last couple of weeks recording a brand new track "Smile" for the up and coming Various Artists CD release on Dannyboy Records "Kidzlikedanny" DBM004. The track will be used exclusively for that CD and will not be featured on any other album or release, so the only way you can get your hands on it is to download the track when it is released (Easter 2007)! I am really pleased with the way the track has turned out and without giving too much away it was written on my experience with growing up with Danny (my brother who suffers from autism) and the problems that autism sufferers and their families encounter. The line up for the CD is nearly complete now bar a few late additions and it is looking a fantastic compilation that I hope you will all enjoy whilst supporting a good cause :-) All info on the project can now be found on www.kidzlikedanny.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk Updates will soon follow there about the latest news on the project and how you can get involved. Cheers, till next time. Matt Tyler. posted 21/10/06 New Album Released "Brilliant Disguise" Out 30th October! Hi, Some fantastic news here. I have finally finished my new album "Brilliant Disguise". It is a tribute album to the great Bruce Springsteen! I was apprehensive at first about doing a tribute album (especially during the middle of recording my solo album) but after much thought and consideration and after the Boss himself released a tribute album for the late Pete Seeger, I decided to have bit of fun with it and I think the results are pretty kool! I have tried to record a selection of tracks from all different eras of Bruce's career and tried to bring something different to each track and play them with a twist. It is the first album in which i play all the instruments (with some help from Jake on the Bongos!) To see the bigger version of the artwork, more info and the full track listings click here! I really hope you enjoy it. I certainly loved every minute of making it for you! Dedicated to the great inspiration that is Bruce Springsteen! The album will be released 30th October on Dannyboy Records and will be available here in the online shop for £5.99 (inc p&p) and postal delivery. Click here to buy it now! The album will also be initially available on eBay and at all Matt Tyler gigs. It will of course later on (Nov/Dec 06) be released via our distribution deal with Orchard Music on i-tunes, Napster, e-music, HMV.net, Virgin.net, Yahoo Music etc.... Check it out and let me know what you think. Spread the word!!!!! Nice One! Matt Tyler. posted 17/10/06 Matt Tyler Live At The MAC Sunday 3rd December! posted 19/09/06 Charity CD On The Way For Dannyboy Records! It has been an interesting time here at Dannyboy Music. Many of you are aware that in recent times we have been doing an annual gig, in recent years at The Crescent Theatre in Brum, for our charity Kidzlikedanny. For those who don't know, Kidzlikedanny is a charity, founded by our family some time ago now, to raise funds and awareness for young sufferers of autism. The charity was founded as my younger brother (Danny) suffers from sever autism. Unfortunately the last couple of years we have been unable to put on a show because it was becoming increasingly more difficult to sell tickets and to get the acts together. However, with the music label now firing on all cylinders it is now possible to bring back KLD but in a different format! The wheels are in motion to release a CD to raise funds for the charity. We are in the very chaotic stage of getting all the local artists and bands to donate a track and join up to the project. The response has been overwhelming in such a short amount of time! So thank you all for that. The idea is that the CD will be released via our distribution deal with Orchard Music and therefore will be available on i-tunes, Napster, e-music, HMV.NET etc... as well as eBay! All the funds from streams, album sales and track sales will go to Kidzlikedanny! This is a very exciting project and one which I am very proud of being involved. It is sure to pick up speed now but is still in its early stages. I will be sure to keep you guys up to date with the news as it happens with regards to what artists sign up and all developments with the project. I hope you will all support this project and check it out when it is released so we can raise as much funds as possible. More news to follow, Thanks for your time everyone, Matt Tyler. 15/09/06 Pictures...(The last of the Trilogy!) Well the last lot of pics I'm putting up in the gallery are the ones from "The Prince Of Wales" at Arts Fest this year. Enjoy! Click here. 12/09/06 Pictures Cont.... I have at last been given a spot on Artsfest this year which I am very pleased about because I was beginning to think it would never happen. I have in fact been given two spots at The Prince of Wales, Cambridge Street, Birmingham. (By The Birmingham Rep Island). I will be on at 12.30pm-1.00pm and then 1.30pm-2.00pm. The Birmingham Artsfest is one of the biggest and most important dates in the music calendar and is a chance for the folk of Birmingham and many visitors to come and see all the art forms that make Birmingham so special. Would be great to see some of you there if you are in town. Make sure you come and say hi. Especially you young reppers, I know some of you are in town with Artsfest yourself for "Scarves". Hope you all like the new website too by the way! Speak soon, Matt Tyler. posted 03/09/06 Monochrome Museum Internet Radio Features "Pictures" In This Weeks Show! Matt Tyler. posted 20/08/06 Matt Tyler Reaches Semi Final of U.K. Song Writing Contest! Hi, First off let me apologise for the lack of access to the site in the last couple of days. There appeared to be a problem with the hosting service we use for the site but thankfully this has now been rectified and we are firing on all cylinders once more! I have just returned from a summer holiday in Lyme Regis (doing plenty of writing) and so feel refreshed and ready for the big gigs coming up. More news on that soon. But before that I must tell you that for a second successive year I have reached the Semi Final of The UK Song Writing Contest! The successful track was in fact "Deepest Love" which is of course still riding high at #1 in The Birmingham Music Folk Chart! I am obviously delighted with this news and rather forces my hand to put the song on an album in the future. Rather interestingly I wrote the song when I had an ear infection towards the end of my U.S. Tour this year at which point I was deaf in one ear! Maybe I should use earplugs when I write in future. So that's where I am going wrong! lol. Keep checking back for news on the big Matt Tyler gigs and how you can get involved! Take it easy, Matt Tyler. posted 10/08/06 Reaction Music Gig Confirmed! (www.birminghamusic.com) Three of the acoustic tracks from "Undercover" were released into the Birmingham Rock Charts this week to coincide with the impending release of the Album. I am very pleased to announce their chart entry positions were as follows: Pictures - 57 Break Away - 62 Hollow - 66 These are not bad for entry positions especially since it our first releases on the Birmingham Rock Charts and beleive me there is plenty of competition for that genre. So much so the charts go up to 400 places every week. The charts are very prestigious within the industry. In fact top of the Charts were just asked to support Ocean Colour Scene on tour this week! Hopefully if we keep playing and streaming the tracks and requesting for them to be heard on www.birminghamusic.com then they may peak even higher this week! Good news at last. I am very pleased to tell you that the new album is well on the way. It will be titled "Undercover". It is in the pressing stage as we speak and is due for a release on March 1st. Later, Matt Tyler. posted 09/01/06 Artist of the Year nomination and a big 3,000 Milestone Passed! Hi to all. Well we are well into the new year now and with it comes great news already. I was yesterday awarded a place in the final 5 for the prestigious "Artist of the Year Award" for the Coventry and Warwickshire area. This is great news because while I am a little different from other people on my circuit it is a good opportunity to showcase myself to some very important people. The final will be Friday 7th July. So those of you who live in the area who are not on their summer hols keep the day free and come and support me. I know there are a lot of you in that area. The final will be at The Standard Club and I will let you know any other details nearer the date as soon as I know. On to other things and I am pleased to announce that my debut cover album "Love Songs" has just passed the 3,000 milestone on digital online sites such as i tunes, HMV, Napster and Virgin. net etc... I am really proud of how the album has done and seems to keep on doing over a year now after its initial release. I will keep you updated as the sales keep totting up. Which leads me to one other small but important bit of news. I am due to finish the editing and mastering of the new album this week so expect proceedings to accelerate from here on in as the wheels get in motion. I promise you it will be worth the wait! More info on that nearer the time though. All the best, Matt Tyler. |
