20/06/08 Matt Tyler Festival News, Tyler Headlining Sutton Arts Fest !!! Hi all, It's that time of year again for wellies and plenty of music in tents :-) I have been trying really hard this year to break into new Festivals having done the same ones for the last few years. So far I am confirmed as HEADLINING the Sutton Arts Fest on Saturday 12th July. I have also landed a spot on Lichfield's FUSE Festival (11th July TBC) And I am still waiting on confirmation for The Warwick Folk Festival (Supporting Nizlopi) on the 26th/27th July. In addition to this my contact at Cox's Yard has been extended due to much success and I will now be live at Cox's Yard on 28th June, 23rd July, 25th July, 28th July and 29th July (more dates to come). Please check the gig guide for more details. Finally, somebody has alerted me to a little article in The Sutton News of my up and coming performance at Sutton Arts Fest. Hi everyone, I've been a bit quiet on here recently but don't worry its all for a reason :-) Recording is going well and I will soon be able to confirm the final track listing, so keep your eyes peeled for that. This week though I have been setting up "Matt Tyler T.V.". It is something I should have done ages ago but never actually finished the job. It is hosted on youtube and the address is www.youtube.com/matttylermusic So far there are: 4 tracks from The USA Tour in 2006. 2 Tracks from The Cavern in 2007. All 7 "Tyler Sessions Videos" by popular demand. And finally, as a special treat I will be uploading 1 new video track per week (Mondays) from my new DVD "Matt Tyler, The Dead Flowers By Midnight Tour". This week it is the opening track "Conspiracy Theory". Please do check out the channel and add me to your friends on the youtube profile so you can be kept up to date with new videos and can comment on the videos etc.. Give them a good rating! Cheers, Matt Tyler. posted 29/05/08 Cox's Yard Gigs, Festival News and Finally a DVD Release !?! Its been a busy few days here and firstly I am very pleased to announce I will be playing a mini residency at Stratford Upon Avon's "Cox's Yard" this Saturday (31st May) and the following (7 June). I will be playing 3 times per day 12, 2 and 4. Come along if you are free and hopefully we will be accompanied by a bit of sunshine as they are outdoor gigs :-) It will be great to go back to Stratford again as I went to college there for 2 years. If it goes well there could be many more dates lined up this summer as the run will be extended. Festival season is upon us once more (those wellies could do with a good airing) and this year I have decided to try my hand at pastures new with spots at Sutton Arts Festival along with Warwickshire Folk Festival. (Details in gig guide). There is still a chance of more Festival slots in the coming weeks so I will keep you posted on that front. In my last post I mentioned using some clips from our video footage of "The Dead Flowers By Midnight Tour 2008" for our up and coming Matt Tyler channel on Youtube. Well, after some consideration I have decided to put them together with a bit of wizardry on the computer and I can confirm this will be the FIRST full length Matt Tyler DVD release. "Matt Tyler Dead Flowers By Midnight Tour 2008" will be available from this Saturday at Cox's Yard from myself and will be just £5!! They will also shortly be available here in the shop. The TV channel will still be happening, however I went to a music meeting in Birmingham last week and spoke to Dave Stewart from the "Eurhythmics". He was a great guy and went out of his way to offer advice to a few of us independent musicians and was very supportive. Had some very interesting ideas on this which I intend to follow up. Again, watch this space! Matt Tyler. posted 22/05/08 Tour Review and Things To Look Forward To! Well, after two months "The Dead Flowers By Midnight Tour 2008" is finally over. It has been a great experience with plenty of highlights along the way accompanied with a few low points too which no tour would be complete without. I would like to thank everybody who came to see me. I hope you enjoyed it and I look forward to seeing you again soon. Also, if you couldn't make a gig from the Tour this time and you would have liked to, all is not lost! I am working on editing some footage taken at a couple of the gigs and am looking at the possibility of releasing them on the internet weekly, so keep your eyes peeled for that. There is plenty to look forward to in the second part of 2008 at Dannyboy Records. "Jonah's Revenge" is being finished as we speak and will be all set for an autumn release. In addition I am in the process of sorting out something which should have been done a long time ago. A Matt Tyler "Youtube Channel". I am sorting through various archive footage and picking the best bits for include in weekly episode format (similar to the Tyler Sessions) . Check back for more info on this very soon! Lastly I will have a pretty big announcement to make in the coming weeks concerning a new musical venture which I am really excited about. Hi everyone, Some good news this week. God knows I'm due some. I will be appearing on Nationwide Radio show "Music Control" this week. I will be on air Tuesday 6th May on Beacon FM amongst others. (8.30-8.45). In essence it is a contest with myself and 3 bands and the winner gets put on The Music Control CD as well as entered into The Grand Final. I NEED your votes. Go to www.musiccontrolradio.co.uk posted 20/04/08 Dead Flowers Tour and Mixing With The Stars!!! Well, I am writing to you as a I am preparing for the third date in the Dead Flowers By Midnight Tour. This Saturday (26th April) I am at at Drakes Broughton Village Hall. Last Saturday's gig at Upton Magna was a great success! Many thanks to those who braved the cold. I was delighted to make so many new friends and receive such positive feedback! I am really looking forward to this weeks gig. Please come if you can or if not then please check for a date near you by clicking here. Last Wednesday I was very fortunate enough to play support for Trevor Burton (from The Move). It was a great experience and one from which I hope to build on as I bid to raise my profile by playing support to some more big acts in the future. There is talk of me playing support for the legendary Steve Gibbons soon so watch this space! I met Trevor in the sound check which was a great honor and he had a copy of "Dead Flowers By Midnight" off me too :-) Finally, I had a little outing last week to see 80's British rock pioneer John Parr strut his stuff in Brum. It was an awesome night and I had a good chat to John after the show about independent music, studio technology and dreams funnily enough (see pic below). He was a really sound guy and it was great to pick is brains about a few things. He also took a copy of "Dead Flowers By Midnight" home with him so all in all a great week!

Hi everyone, Kidzlikedanny 2 is finally released on all good digital music stores worldwide with a few more to follow soon. Please check it out. Its all for a good cause and there is something there for everyone. There are some fantastic tracks on there all kindly donated free of charge by the artists involved. Including Raymond Froggatt, Quill and Aaron Yorke to name but a few. February has rolled around quickly and after a short break from the live circuit am about to start gigging again. Starting with this weekends gig at "The Yardbird" which should prove to be a great gig. Formally "The Stage" it is a very prestigious venue and one that I will be playing for the first time. On the gig guide you will see we have some really cool dates coming up serving as a warm up to the "DFBM Tour" and giving me a good chance to try out some new songs from the up and coming album. Including gigs at "The Queens", "Siblia's" and "Kidzlikedanny" of course. Additionally I am delighted to tell you that a gig has just be lined up as I type this for me to support the legendary Trevor Burton at The Actress and Bishop on the 16th April. That will truly be an honor and actually also be my first time at The Actress too! Do not miss that one! Well, I have to dash now. A Happy New Year to you all! I hope the festive period went without hitches (though they rarely do!) and 2008 finds you in good spirit. Thought my music player on myspace needed a bit of a shake up as I'm recording the new material. So, i have put up "Deepest Love" from "Dead Flowers By Midnight". So, check that out if you feel like it :-) Looks like the first release of 2008 from Danny boy Records will be "Kidzlikedanny 2". The second Charity album we have compiled for the charity supporting sufferers of Autism. All being well the release will be March/April time for downloads though physical CD's may be available before this date (More Info soon to come!) This CD will be given a massive push so please get onboard in any capacity you can whether that be buying a CD, downloading a track you like, coming to the gig (March 7th/See the gig guide!), or just pushing the word out there. e.g. Blogs, mail outs, word of mouth, bulletins, web groups etc.. It all makes a difference and hopefully we can raise a load of cash for the kids!
